What do you Meditate on?

Now before the more traditional of you start shouting at the screen my question is perfectly valid.

Meditation is a personal affair. It can be in the quiet, eyes closed focusing on your breathing. It can be with music, letting your mind wander to the beautiful melody. Or it can be focused on a wish, a need or a desire.

I've never been good at the quiet, closed eyes type of meditation. I fidget, I find daily tasks creeping into my thoughts and it just doesn't work. As I've mentioned before I like to meditate with music, however if I have a particular problem or I need guidance I find that meditating on a subject is just the ticket.

I initially did my focused meditation by creating a Wish Board. This is a board here you add pictures or words that represent all that you want from life, love, money, security, that gorgeous pair of Manolo Blahniks.

Once I have some focus for how I visualise my life, I place my board in a prominent place. I find in view of my bed is best for me, so that when I open my eyes in the morning it can help me direct my actions through out my day.

Some things can give us all a moment or two of panic through even the most relaxed day. Mine usually is around money, am I going to manage to pay my bills, buy my sons new shoes or just be able to have a quiet drink with friends at the weekend. I address problems like this by asking for help.

I ask for help when I go to bed at night, I take note of my dreams and I include it in my meditation. I ask that funds will appear, that I will stop worrying and that I can find Peace and Abundance. You may find this a little alien and wonder how it works. But I find that help does come, and by focusing on what I need I notice all the gifts and help I am given. I may gain a new contract to teach, or my Mum will decide to treat me. I'm not sure if it is a Universal fulfilment of my need or if it is just a way to help me focus on all I have, what I do know is this way of meditating gives me peace of mind. It works for me.

What works for you?
