If your household is anything like ours you'll have spent this glorious Bank Holiday Weekend with friends indulging in food, alcohol and laughs. I love long lazy weekends with loads of chatter and the chance to catch up, I'm not so keen on the sluggish, tired feeling it gives my body. This is when it's time to Regroup, drink more water and start to show your body the respect it deserves. Over the weekend I have done literally little more exercise than strolling with my husband in the Spring sunshine, or lifting my right arm to drink my Guinness. As a result I've had boozy sleep, and my body is crying out for water and fresh fruit. On the plus side it has given us the opportunity to switch off all the stresses that our busy lives throw at us. I would be the first to agree that we should live wholesome, healthy active lives, however I also think we need time to unwind and indulge in a little fun. It's having the capacity to do this that allows us the chance to be fully rounded happy humans. So do what I'm doing, wait until tomorrow, start drinking loads of water and eat some fruit and slowly but surely your body get back to fighting fitness by next weekend. |
