Since we got married in December our household has revolved around good food, beer, and wine. We spent lots of lovely evenings as a family shooting the breeze with a bottle of beer and a curry, but all those lovely bottles and delicious curries have resulted in my husband and I having to loosen our belts quite a few notches. I decided after the May Bank Holiday I would get back into my habit of eating raw at least once a day. A couple of Christmas's ago my daughters bought me a book calledAuthentic Woman: A Guide to Beauty, Body and Bliss by Leslie Kenton. Atfirst I poo pooed the book, it didn't seem to be my sort of thing, I was reading books on Enlightenment, what had this got to do with anything! In fact they provided me with an easy way to try an amazing life changing activity that would take little more effort than buying and eating more raw vegetables and fruit. As a result my skin and hair were healthy, my weight levelled out and I had far more energy. I found I craved the indulgent stuff less often however I kept any cravings under control by giving myself I night off once a week. I would never advocate a 100% raw diet in our lovely changeable UK climate, on a cold miserable day you need something warm in your tummy. However I would suggest trying to replace your lunch time meal with 100% raw ingredients. You'll be amazed at the combinations you can come up with and there are a whole host of websites and books just full of amazing recipes. So after three days of just replacing my lunch with a huge salad full of amazing veggies, how do I feel...A little lighter, a little brighter and a little more focused. Give it a go you never know it may just make you feel as good as I do. |
