I'm really excited. Those of you that occasionally look at the Loulibelle Yoga website, or follow us on Facebook will have seen my recent posts about my collaboration with Monica Mitoli . My husband first
introduced me to Monica about 8 months ago. He had spoken a little about
her when he came home from his Friday nights training at the Training
Studio, but only to say that she was an Italian Ballerina with the most incredible posture he had ever seen. Loulibelle Yoga
had been struggling to find a home in which to base our classes for well
over 12 months, all the spaces I looked at although lovely were either
not big enough, unavailable at the times and days that suited us or just
too noisy. My husband suggested I called up Nasser Butt who is the
founder of the Leicester based Naz,
being the great man he is, was happy to have me come in and use the
space during the day. Monica became my liaison for opening up the studio
on the days I was teaching. We had general chats but nothing indepth.
She observed one of my classes and commented to my husband that she
loved the way my teaching methods. I was extremely flattered as rarely
as a teacher, other than when you are initially training do you get this
sort of feed back from another teacher. Just
before the Summer Holidays Monica asked if we could sit down and liaise
about joint classes in the Summer. And so a new collaboration began. We
sat and chatted, Monica was quiet but friendly. It
was during one of our chats that I suggested that we added Monica's
classes to the Loulibelle website, and guess what...I'm working with a
celebrity!! As
Monica sat and I chatted I discovered what an amazing life she has
lead. In Italy she is very well know, a celebrity. She has danced with
some amazing performers, appeared on television, Broadway and in the
West End, travelled and lived in some of the most beautiful and exciting
cities in the world. I
am truly blessed to be working with her, she is an am\zing asset as a
friend and as a colleague, and I am sure I will learn lots more as our
relationship grows and develops. So
you see, never judge someone at first glance, you never know their
depths and what an amazing relationship you could have with them if only
you take the time to listen. |
